A patient is referred for multiple sclerosis to a physical therapist. The patient participates fully without complaint. At the next session, a couple of days later, the patient reports that she was weak, fatigued, and in pain the next day. Today she is back to baseline. Select appropriate management
1. Skip therapy for the day and have the patient return for the same program tomorrow
2. Educate the patient that this is expected and repeat the same treatment
3. Decrease the intensity of the therapy and question the patient during the treatment about pain and fatigue
4. Call the patient’s physician and ask for guidance
